For some weird reason when you first go through The Veil snowy area, you'll reach this climbing section. Death won't move and get stuck there. The only way I was able to fix this was by holding the L1 button which is the special skills button. In order to finally fix this problem, I decided to mess around the menu and go to the Pause menu. I open up Options then scroll right using the Right Trigger or RT to go to the Video Options. Once there, look for the Vertical Sync and enable it by checking the empty square. Once it's checked, exit from the Pause menu and also save if you want to. My game crashed after that for some weird reason so I had to restart the whole game. Also, enabling VSync might help with the crash. I'll have to fix that later. Also, for some weird reason pressing Alt+Tab on the keyboard crashes the game too. Vigil Games and THQ Nordic needs to fix this game and release some patches that fixes the crashes and the getting stuck part. Go to the links above to learn how to fix certain crashes. Steam never released the Complete Edition and EA pretty much gave no support for Steam. Also its quite difficult to get the Complete Edition. Only a few stores offer it for Origin and also only for some specific regions like US. Origin itself removed the complete edition. No need to bother anymore, thanks to this guide! 1. Download the necessary files from here: https://www.mediafireXcom/file/jn42h07jk4rmbs5/amral1steam.7z/file Replace "X" behind mediafire with a dot "." If you own the Complete Edition on Origin, but wanna play the game on Steam, you can simply use the Alice1 folder from the Origin version. 2. Extract and move the Alice1 folder to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Alice Madness Returns 3. You need to have launched the game at least one time for the next step. Go to: C:\Users\Administrator\Documents\My Games\Alice Madness Returns\AliceGame\Config And open the file "AliceEngine.ini" with notepad. Look for "GIsSpecialPCEdition=FALSE" and change it to "GIsSpecialPCEdition=TRUE". This will unlock the Complete Edition content. Now you will have a main menu option to launch the classic Alice HD game. Another positive side effect is that all the exclusive Complete Edition costumes and weapons for Alice Madness Returns will be unlocked. This trick was already known and explained in many other guides. However, Steam is missing the HD version of the first Alice and that is the sense of this guide after all. 4. This is the last step. In the same AliceEngine.ini search for "Alice1Path=..\..\..\Alice1\bin". This line is directly above the "GIsSpecialPCEdition=" line. Change it to: "Alice1Path=..\..\Alice1\bin". Yes, there is a difference in case you wondered. I removed one "..\". This change is necessary to get the game to run with the Steam version since it has a slightly different folder structure than the Origin/Complete Edition. That's it. After this you can launch the Alice HD version anytime from the main menu of Alice Madness Returns. Have fun playing this old classic! Other hints and troubleshooting: I should note that this HD version includes all official languages for the game. English, German, Spanish, French. The game seems to use the language that is used in Alice Madness Returns. By default the game never launches in fullscreen. You can fix this with editing the default_pc.cfg file in the bin/base directory of Alice1. Just change "seta r_fullscreen "0"" to 1. You maybe have to delete the other config files in the same directory. I think the only file that you need to have there is the default_pc.cfg. In fact the game puts a config file into your Documents/My Games directory. Just editing this one didn't fix the fullscreen for me though. Weird. EAX might work. It always reverted to Miles after every restart though. Couldn't fix this sadly. I always changed it to EAX2 in the sound option each start. I've added more fixes. I think that this might help better compared to the other fix that I made which didn't really have much in it. For anyone still having trouble with starting the game, try out this fix. The first fix is changing the MaxSmoothedFrameRate = 31 to MaxSmoothedFrameRate = 60. Here's another fix. Scroll down to [UnrealEd.UnrealEdEngine]. Find MaxSmoothedFrameRate=31.000000 and change that to MaxSmoothedFrameRate=60.000000. If that doesn't work, try this one. You will have to go to your documents folder where the Alice Madness Returns folder is. It might say My Games and then inside that folder is the Alice Madness Returns folder. Go inside this folder. This is in a different location other than the one in the Steam folder. Go inside your Alice Madness Returns folder. Find the AliceGame folder and open it. Go inside the Config folder. Find AliceEngine.ini and open that with notepad. Scroll down to [Engine.Engine] Find bUseBackgroundLevelStreaming=True and change that to bUseBackgroundLevelStreaming=False Next. Scroll down to [TextureStreaming] Find PoolSize=140 Increase the texture poolsize until the freezing dissapears Try setting the texture poolsize to 1300 so that it says PoolSize=1300 Afterwards, save this and try out the game again. Remember to make a backup save or copy of this notepad file. That way if it doesn't work then you can revert to the original settings. You can also try this out. Close up the AliceEngine.ini and open up AliceGame.ini in the Config folder. Scroll down and find [Engine.WorldInfo] Look for MaxPhysicsSubsteps=10 Change that number to 5 so that it says MaxPhysicsSubsteps=5 Scroll down and find [Engine.DecalManager] Look for MaxActiveDecals=100 Change that to MaxActiveDecals=50 Save the notepad file and close it. Try starting the game again. Remember to make a copy or backup of this notepad file so that you can revert to the original settings or just change the settings back to their original default settings by typing the original numbers. If that doesn't work try changing the compatibility by going to where your Steam is installed. Go inside the Steam folder and find steamapps. Find the common folder and go inside it. Once inside, find the Alice Madness folder and go inside that one. Inside that one look for the binaries folder and double click that to go inside that folder. Inside that folder you should see the Win32 folder. Open it. Look for the AliceMadnessReturns.exe application. Right click that and the open properties at the bottom by choosing it. Choose the compatibility tab and find the compatibility mode. Check the empty box and that should enable you to change the compatibility mode. You can change it to whatever version of OS aka Operating System that you want. Try out Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista, etc. and then once you choose one of those click Apply on the bottom and choose OK. Try starting the game again. If it still doesn't work change the compatibility mode again to a different one until it works. If it still won't work then look for fixes in the Steam Community discussions about Alice Madness Returns. Sometimes, I look for solutions there too if I'm having issues. I did another game session and attempt on the leaderboard in the Mega Man X Challenge. This is on the Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 for the PS4. It's pretty tricky trying to fight two Maverick bosses at once. You gotta beat them as fast as possible and also avoid getting hit yourself. Mega Man X8, known as Rockman X8 (ロックマンX8 Rokkuman Ekkusu Eito) in Japan, and often shortened to MMX8, or just X8, is a game of the Mega Man X series released for the PlayStation 2 in 2004. The game was later ported to the PC in South Korea, Europe and the United States. It was released on PlayStation Network in Japan as part of the PS2 classics on December 16, 2015 and was re-released as part of Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 on July 24, 2018 in North America and Europe, and was released two days later in Japan. After Mega Man X7's attempt at fully 3D gameplay, Mega Man X8 reverts to traditional sidescroller action while retaining the 3D rendered graphics. It also maintains the newcomer Axl, along with Alia, Layer, and Pallette as secret bonus playable characters. In late 21XX, the Maverick Wars continue with no end in sight. To escape the carnage, humans have begun migrating to the Moon as part of an initiative known as the "Jakob Project", which involves an orbital elevator built in the Galapagos Islands. One night while X is out on patrol, one of the elevators breaks off and comes crashing down to Earth. As X approaches the elevator, the doors open, revealing an entire army of Sigmas. Suddenly, a purple-haired Reploid arrives and introduces himself as Lumine, the director of the Jakob Project. He reveals the "Sigma army" isn't what it appears to be; instead, they are new generation Reploids created as part of the project who are immune from viruses and able to use DNA copy data to change their shapes and appearances to assist with space development. Everything seems to be running smoothly until Vile, who was last seen in Mega Man X3, returns and kidnaps Lumine, causing Maverick uprisings all over the world. While battling the Mavericks, the Hunters pick up hints that Sigma has returned and teasing a concept called "the new world". Eventually, Sigma is tracked to the Moon, where he unveils his ultimate plan: eradicate the "old generation" and re-populate it with his "children". He reveals all of the new generation Reploids contain a copy chip which possesses his DNA, meaning these 'virus-proof' Reploids are essentially copies of Sigma. When Sigma is defeated, Lumine emerges from the shadows and congratulates the Hunters on finally destroying Sigma once and for all, before admitting he was manipulating Sigma in order to get his DNA and is behind the entire plot. Lumine gloats to the stunned Hunters that in order for evolution to take its course, he and the new generation Reploids must destroy both the humans and "obsolete" Reploids. After a massive struggle, Lumine is defeated, but he warns them that it is too late to stop what has already begun. As Axl approaches Lumine's body, a tentacle springs from it and breaks the crystal on his helmet. I do another run of Mega Man X8 which is the last game in the Mega Man X series. I unlock the Ultimate Armor for X, Black Zero Armor and White Axl Armor. The Ultimate Armor is very powerful because the Nova Strike destroys enemies in one hit and reduces bosses health to nearly nothing! It also fires the Plasma Shot and becomes invincible temporarily when dashing. It also gives unlimited energy for special weapons. You can also do the Shoryuken move from Street Fighter with this armor. I try to go for a 100% completion but I failed! At least, I got X 100%! Now I just need to get Zero and Axl to 100%. I don't know if I wanna do this game on hard mode but I'll be live streaming this game again next time. I just gotta get everything at 100% even if I don't get AAA ranks on stages. This game has really good gameplay and is one of the best in the series! It's pretty underrated if you ask me and I think it deserves more credit! It's definitely a lot better than X7! It basically went back to basics and made a 2.5D sidescrolling 3D game! It's still 3D graphics except you go left and right with the characters like with the old games! The music in this game is amazing! It's one of the best soundtracks in the series! I think that if Capcom were to make Mega Man X9 they should do it this way like this game at least! Mega Man X8, known as Rockman X8 (ロックマンX8 Rokkuman Ekkusu Eito) in Japan, and often shortened to MMX8, or just X8, is a game of the Mega Man X series released for the PlayStation 2 in 2004. The game was later ported to the PC in South Korea, Europe and the United States. It was released on PlayStation Network in Japan as part of the PS2 classics on December 16, 2015 and was re-released as part of Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 on July 24, 2018 in North America and Europe, and was released two days later in Japan. After Mega Man X7's attempt at fully 3D gameplay, Mega Man X8 reverts to traditional sidescroller action while retaining the 3D rendered graphics. It also maintains the newcomer Axl, along with Alia, Layer, and Pallette as secret bonus playable characters. In late 21XX, the Maverick Wars continue with no end in sight. To escape the carnage, humans have begun migrating to the Moon as part of an initiative known as the "Jakob Project", which involves an orbital elevator built in the Galapagos Islands. One night while X is out on patrol, one of the elevators breaks off and comes crashing down to Earth. As X approaches the elevator, the doors open, revealing an entire army of Sigmas. Suddenly, a purple-haired Reploid arrives and introduces himself as Lumine, the director of the Jakob Project. He reveals the "Sigma army" isn't what it appears to be; instead, they are new generation Reploids created as part of the project who are immune from viruses and able to use DNA copy data to change their shapes and appearances to assist with space development. Everything seems to be running smoothly until Vile, who was last seen in Mega Man X3, returns and kidnaps Lumine, causing Maverick uprisings all over the world. While battling the Mavericks, the Hunters pick up hints that Sigma has returned and teasing a concept called "the new world". Eventually, Sigma is tracked to the Moon, where he unveils his ultimate plan: eradicate the "old generation" and re-populate it with his "children". He reveals all of the new generation Reploids contain a copy chip which possesses his DNA, meaning these 'virus-proof' Reploids are essentially copies of Sigma. When Sigma is defeated, Lumine emerges from the shadows and congratulates the Hunters on finally destroying Sigma once and for all, before admitting he was manipulating Sigma in order to get his DNA and is behind the entire plot. I did another run of Mega Man X7. I did another run with Zero. To get Zero's ending, just deal the final blow against giant Colossus Sigma which is his final form. Afterwards, Zero's ending will play after the cutscene. Mega Man X7, known as Rockman X7 (ロックマンX7 Rokkuman Ekkusu Sebun) in Japan, and often shortened to MMX7, or just X7, is the seventh game in the Mega Man X series, and the first on the PlayStation 2. It was first released in Japan on July 17, 2003, with North American and PAL region releases following in October 2003 and March 2004, respectively. The game was rereleased for the first time as part of the Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 on July 24, 2018 in North America and PAL regions, and was released two days later in Japan. Mega Man X7 is unique for being the first game in the series with 3D rendered graphics, and the only one so far to attempt fully 3D gameplay and movement. Animated FMV cutscenes also returned after their absence in X5 and X6, albeit 3D animated this time rather than traditionally. The game also introduced a new playable character, the mysterious rookie Axl. After the Eurasia and Nightmare incidents that left the Earth's surface devastated, Reploids have worked diligently to clean up the world and make it habitable for humans once again, and is slowly recovering. However, Maverick crime is on a rise. The Maverick Hunters had weakened when X retired from the front lines to assume a support role and achieve more peaceful solutions. To take care of the rising crime, the group of vigilantes Red Alert was created under the command of Red. Initially, they only fought against Mavericks, but one day the group changed and began acting strange. One of their key members, Axl, noticed he was being used and goes AWOL. Red sends a giant Mechaniloid to take him back, but it is stopped with the help of Zero and Axl is taken to the Maverick Hunters headquarters. Red contacts them and issues a challenge - he released some of the Mavericks Red Alert has in custody to various locations around the globe, challenging them to see who can defeat more with Axl as the prize. In the end, it is revealed that Sigma is behind the change of Red Alert, having been drawn to Red Alert after realizing Axl's power. Once again, the Hunters face Sigma and he is defeated. Later, Axl attempts to officially join the Maverick Hunters, even with X's disapproval. Although Mega Man X7 shares basic gameplay elements with previous games in the series, it also has many differences. One notable feature is that this is the first and only game in the series to have 3D gameplay in addition to the standard sidescroller style. Also unlike previous titles, X is not initially playable — Zero and Axl are the starting characters. To unlock X, the player must either rescue 64 Reploids or defeat all eight Mavericks. Axl has an innate special ability called Copy Shot. If certain types of enemies are destroyed with this ability, they'll leave an item (DNA core) upon their destruction. If the item is picked up, Axl will transform into a copy of that enemy using A-Trans if they were the same size as him, gaining its appearance and abilities. Other enemies grant Axl special attacks or a temporary boost in abilities.
