This was a blog that I originally made back on August 27, 2014 at 2:10 AM.
This is an interesting twist. We've been hearing rumors of Google wanting to buy the gaming streaming site Twitch which is starting to become big nowadays. This time though a different turn of events had occurred. Amazon the giant online shopping store has bought Twitch for $970 million! Woah! O.o What could this mean for Twitch? Will it turn into a shopping store and gaming streaming site at the same time or will it just stay the same? Amazon will probably promote their products and shop through Twitch ads and all that. I don't mind all that. As long as the current features of Twitch are just as good now as it was before. They can do some improvements here and there but I have no problem with Amazon acquiring Twitch. I use Amazon several times already when buying games, electronics, and computer parts and I didn't have any problems with them yet so they're pretty good with delivery. I've never contacted their costumer service so I don't know if that is good. Well, what do you guys think of this big news? Since Amazon is a really popular online store much like ebay this could probably help promote TwitchTV globally further so that more audience and people will tune in and watch or participate and use it to stream themselves. This combination may not makes sense now but it will probably later. It must be a strategic marketing move on their part but we'll just have to wait and see. I've heard of another streaming site called HitboxTV which I might try out later. For now, I'll stick with Twitch since I've never really had any problems with them.
