Back in September 17, 2018 Yusaku Maezawa a Japanese entrepreneur and billionaire wanted to be the first commercial passenger to do a flyby around the moon. He will be onboard a SpaceX Starship so that means Elon Musk and his company is already involve in this. This Starship has been in development since 2017 and the flight is slated to take place no later than 2023. Yusaku wanted to take eight other artists with him to space to be a part of art project called #dearMoon. Yesterday I once again saw another announcement made by Yusaku Maezawa in a video which has Elon Musk with him. It seems that the mission is scheduled to continue as planned but now Yusaku is picking 8 people all over the world to be part of this flight to space. This is pretty much a once in a lifetime opportunity and will help bring space flight once again to the public eye. It's not just bringing trained astronauts but also average people. Yusaku did state that he wants people with a creative artistic style to go with him. He is after all paying for those 8 random people chosen to fly with him. I might draw something because this is inspiring me again to start drawing again. I haven't drawn anything in a while. That's my artistic side. If this is true then people representing different countries, backgrounds, race, culture, etc. can be chosen as the 8 so that people all over the world can be inspired once again while the media and news covers this. We know that the news will be all over these 8 chosen people. Some people commented in Yusaku Maezawa's video saying that getting chosen is like finding the Golden Ticket in that 1971 movie Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. I hope they chose the right people who will appreciate this, have a good heart and are humble. Hopefully this inspires people as well. It's definitely making me excited about space and dreaming about it again. Whenever I think about flying I imagine that feeling supeheroes like Supes in the movie Man of Steel felt whenever he flies as he feels the wind and air in front of his face. It must feel really good defying gravity and going all the way out into space! This is definitely gonna be historic since it's the first time people other than professional astronauts get to go fly into space all the way to the moon.
