This was a blog that I originally made back on August 26, 2013 at 8:50 PM.
There has always been negative backlash against the gaming community and gamers before and now. The media will always try to attack the gaming industry if it benefits them and makes them money. I completely understand that anyone who could get paid a lot of money for criticizing something as a critic whether it be a movie, video game, show, book, magazine, etc. will do it for the money period. It's the driving force of any huge and major company and corporation. It's the life blood of these things. Don't get me wrong. I believe in everyone's dream to become successful in life, to become rich, and give their family a better life. I also believe in the humanitarian way of helping people by way of donating to charities, cure a disease like cancer, help homeless kids and people, etc. People could always do good with their wealth to help those who are less fortunate and those who are sick. What I'm basically trying to make a point of is that whatever it is whether gamers, movie makers, artists, musicians, etc. all have the power to help those in need. They can prove to the mainstream media that they aren't always right and that there is some good to all of this. It's not always evil. The only thing I can say to the parents who are afraid for their children is that you should pay more attention to your kids so that they don't get influence by violence coming from TVs, movies, video games, books, music, etc. All of these will have an impact on your kids at a very young age. The reason that kids are easily influence is because they still need guidance and aren't smart or old enough to think for themselves so they need a good role model that they can look up to who will guide them in the right direction. Well that's all. Here are some youtubers and gamers who help out with charity and humanitarian ways. Check their videos out: SpeedDemosArchiveSDA - Charity Gaming Marathon 2013, Pewdiepie - Water Charity, GameGrumps - Gaming Charity, Playstation Access - Gaming Charity, Child's Play Charity - Children Gaming Charity, etc. There are probably more organizations out there that uses gaming to help out in humanitarian causes. That's all I have to say for now. Just don't judge too quickly because there are a lot of good people out there that are ready and willing to do good. Like Batman said to Joker in The Dark Knight Returns movie when he failed to make the people and criminals blow each others boats, "This city just showed you that it's full of people ready to believe in good." If Batman believes the people out there then I do as well! Keep gaming and peace!
