I've been doing a lot of Steam gaming lately. Well, not really as much as I should be but maybe I can say I've been mostly gaming on my PC. I can say that there are a lot of games out there and a lot of games created by indie developers aka small time independent game developers not supported by big time publishers are actually pretty good! You just have to look! I mean we had good hits like Super Meat Boy, The Binding of Isaac, etc. Even fanmade games are actually done pretty good and some games are waiting to be greenlit on Steam to be available for purchase and download! I can say that IWBTG (I Wanna Be The Guy) is another example of a fanmade game that became popular and kickstarted the ones old type of gaming that is difficult and the one hit kill type of side scrolling 2D gaming. I'm not saying that type of gaming is dead I'm just saying that a lot of developers out there are keeping that spirit of gaming alive. Too many games nowadays have lost that touch and made the game too easy to cater to casuals. I don't mind that. Those actually are pretty popular and I'm not gonna judge easy games because they are still games. Sometimes some games that suck are getting too much praise and aren't even that good yet they are popular because they are promoted by popular people. Hey, that's viral marketing for you. It's all about the popular kids and what's trendy! There is nothing wrong with that either. It's just that some really good games are being blocked by the popular ones because then the masses will flock more to the popular titles. That's why I'm discussing the potential of indie developers who have a good idea and are really talented and passionate about trying new things and aren't afraid to stray away from the popular and norms to a bold new world! Well, what do you guys think? Do you think I'm wrong? If that is so then debate my reasoning and explain to me in detail why I'm wrong. If you agree with my points then cool if not then why. There is also the potential of the Steam machines being made by Valve and might be competing with the console market. The only problem with the Steam machines are the too expensive prices which can range from $499 up to $6,000! I wouldn't wanna get a Steam machine with those kinds of prices! It's for rich people most likely. lol I'd probably stick to Steam gaming on my own PC. Hmm. Lots of changes will unfold in the future of gaming but one thing is for certain the price ranges of games in Steam and places like that can't be argued with. They can have pretty good value deals a lot of times so you can't underestimate that potential! Also, it's not a guarantee that Steam is for everyone because Steam is basically PC gaming. A lot of gamers out there and probably most of them are console gamers! As for me, I'm an all around gamer going from PC to console and anything I can get my hands on because I'm badass! lol Once you've installed Steam into your PC then you can browse their tons of PC games and buy them. Once you purchase the game then download and install the game to your PC without leaving your house. A lot of games are PC controller compatible but not all games support PC controllers so you'll have to use the keyboard. I just hope that all PC games someday become PC controller compatible not just the XBox controller but any PC controller gamepad compatible. That would help them better! If you wanna try Steam out then just click on the picture below! You can also try GOG by clicking on its picture down below at the bottom if you scroll down! It's kinda like Steam but different. The games on GOG are DRM free so you don't need the internet or even have a launcher installed to play the games. Just download the games, install and then play them.
Praise our lord and savior Lord GabeN!
