This was a blog that I originally made back on March 4, 2014 at 4:40 AM.

VFX (Visual Effects) is something that we the audience really don't discuss too much when it comes to the creative process part. We only see the special effects and CGI in the movie but never really understand and know the people behind creating those fantastic and awesome effects in those movies. Without the hundreds of artists and talented people creating all that effects then all we'll see is a green screen which is were those effects are gonna be placed. You see it's not just about the actors and directors and producers but also about the special effects team. These guys are not getting enough credit. This documentary Life After Pi shows a documentary about a visual effects studio Rhythm and Hues who are the guys behind the special effects and CGI in movies like Life of Pie (2012), The Hunger Games (2012), The Green Mile (1999), Babe (1995), etc. They're a company that have been around since 1987 and now they went bankrupt. The people in the video seem to be really passionate and a creative team. The problem is that there just isn't an organize communication between the directors and the special effects team. They also have a set pay as they are not paid by the hour. It doesn't matter how difficult and how complex the visual effects is if the higher ups decide to change them then they have no choice but to follow their decisions. It's just kind of unfair how these special effects team are treated. So basically, the company are in protest to the injustice of the motion picture industry and also since the government is involve then they also should be held accountable. I also see that they don't really care if these guys are laid off and aren't even given credit. It's a damn shame really. Well, I can't really do this video justice. You'll just have to watch it for yourself to see. I can also say that the gaming industry might learn something from this since they are also artists involve with graphics and CGI. That's something movies and games have in common is the creative team and minds behind the games and movies are in fact people just like you and me and not robots. It's a very long and creative process but also these guys work a hundred hours a week. As an artist myself who like to draw and create, I can understand how much work and passion these guys put into their vision and artistic visual effects. The documentary is down below. Here's also a list of the movies the visual effects studio Rhythm and Hues work on down below their logo at the bottom:
