You know that there is a reason critics and judges exist and that is to rate and score products, services, quality, content, etc. You can't always have positive reviews on things. You gotta listen to both the reviewers and the people to see what they think. People won't always give something a perfect or positive score. That's just the way it always has been. I guess Microsoft is getting really desperate now if they want youtubers to put their XBox One promotions directly on youtubers videos rather than the normal ads. Well, check it out for yourself. Basically, Microsoft has partnered up with Machinima to promote the XBox One. They basically pay these partners on Machinima to advertise about the console and they give them an additional $3 CPM (i.e., $3 per thousand video views) for posting videos featuring XBox One content. The promotion was advertised by Machinima's UK community manager in a since-deleted tweet, and it also appears on Machinima's activity feed on Poptent, a clearinghouse for these kind of video marketing campaigns. The Poptent page also mentions an earlier campaign surrounding the Xbox One's launch in November, which offered an additional $1 CPM for videos promoting the Xbox One and its release games. Participants were required to post a video that included a minimum of 30 seconds of footage from an Xbox One game, mentioned the Xbox One name, and were tagged "XB1M13" to be eligible for payment. For the average YouTuber that gains about 35,000 views per video that would roughly translate into $105 per video. As noted by iGR, even if the video(s) hit(s) 1.25 million views, that would only cost Microsoft $3,750. That's decent cash for YouTubers, but it's peanuts for Microsoft. These kinds of shady dealings and behind the curtain kind of activities kind of make you question people's true motives. What do you guys think? It's basically selling out and you're doing it purely because of money not because it's for entertainment and having a good time but the green. There is nothing wrong with making money I will say that first and foremost but if it's done in an unfairly kind of way like paying someone to promote something. You might as well pay someone to false claim ID content on honest youtubers out there just because someone is paying you to do it so that someone else makes money of it rather than the original video creator. See how unfair that is and unjustified. It's just corruption all over the place. Tsk tsk. So have you lost faith in Microsoft and Machinima yet? Oh, well. They got this mess to fix. Now, Microsoft is trying to deny that they got anything to do with this. They're basically trying to damage control things. Sigh. This kinds of lies, deceit, and corruption makes me think about corrupt powerful people who are just in it for the money regardless if people are harmed in the process. Oh, yes. That is the reality! People will do anything for money including causing suffering to others, destroying lives and seizing property. That's life and that's real. Also, this kind of stuff isn't really new if you're wondering. These kinds of business and marketing has been going on for a long time now and not just with Microsoft either. Well, I'm not gonna judge Microsoft as completely negative but this ain't cool man. I was really hoping for XBox One to be cool like Fonzie. I'm cool with Sony and Nintendo but Microsoft c'mon man you guys gotta stop this nonsense and come back to the light side of the force not the darkside.
Below is the payout for influencers and youtubers for helping promote the XBox One. Naughty Naughty XBox!
