I've had my eye for a while on this game. It's being made by this developers and publisher called Game Science Interactive Technology Co., Ltd. The game is based on the Journey to the West is a Chinese novel published in the 16th century during the Ming dynasty and attributed to Wu Cheng'en. It is one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature. It has been described as arguably the most popular literary work in East Asia. Sun Wukong is one of its most popular character. He's the Monkey King who got imprisoned by Buddha because he was wrecking havoc on heaven. He was so powerful that nothing can stop except for a celestial cosmic god like Buddha to imprison him under a mountain. Wukong lost his powers after several Wukong was trapped under the mountain for 500 years until being released by the monk Tang Xuanzang who's on the journey to the far west for the original Buddhist scriptures. This gave Wukong a chance for redemption in doing good deeds fighting monsters along the way and becoming a legend. A lot of characters are based on Sun Wukong because of his powers, abilities, skills and appearance! One of the most popular characters in anime like Goku is based on Sun Wukong. His flying nimbus cloud, the power pole, the ability to move several times the speed of light, the potential for limitless strength and several of the character from Dragon Ball when Goku was a kid like the Ox King, Oolong, Tien, Krillin, etc. They just go by different names like Tang Sangzang or Tripitaka the monk, Sun Wukong or Monkey King, Zhu Bajie or Pigsy and Sha Wujing or Sandy. Naruto's powers like the shadow clone jutsu are similar to Sun Wukong's ability to create copies of himself using his her. He has a pretty long list of powers like being able to emit beams from his eyes and he is pretty immortal. The only way to really stop Sun Wukong is by getting someone like him to kill him or by imprisoning him under a mountain like Buddha did. Let's get back to the game. This game seems to take place after the Journey to the West story and is trying to go for a different take. Some rumors and speculations who are knowledgeable say that the character in this game might not be the real Monkey King Sun Wukong but another version of him or even a copy. I guess the only way to find out is by playing the game once it comes. The game seems to also take some inspiration from games like the God of War series, Nioh series, Dark Souls series, Darksiders series, Devil May Cry series, Asura's Wrath, Sekiro Shadows Die Twice, etc. basically third person action adventure hack and slash games. If this game is big in scale and exploration then that would be cool with some collectibles. If it's anything like Devil May Cry 5 then I'm cool with it! It's still being develop so they said that it won't be done for a couple of more years. I just hope this game doesn't take forever like Final Fantasy VII Remake and The Last Guardian to finish.
