Okay, first and foremost I'd just like to say that I like the Sonic The Hedgehog games but other than that my opinion may differ from yours and other people. Now, that I've said that let's get on to the news. Sega is planning to reinvigorate the long running Sonic The Hedgehog franchise who rivaled Nintendo's Super Mario franchise since his debut with this new Sonic Boom. They are gonna be doing something like what the Ninja Turtles franchise and Sly Cooper the Raccoon Thief have done by going to all the media to promote their franchise. I think that's a great idea and very creative. It's being open minded about things and will help expose them to a wider and broader audience. This will be great for the younger generation of audience as well. We all know the hate Sonic has gotten over the years because of the changes he went through in gaming from 2D to 3D. I love both his incarnations since holding that Sega Genesis controller and even now playing his 3D incarnations with PS2, PS3, and Wii mote. He's still the good old blue blur hero that we all know and love! He's just gone through changes. I'm also aware of the hate that he's gotten because of the fanbase but that shouldn't taint the Sonic franchise. It's just that some fans are crazy and like to do crazy fan art and fan fiction to satisfy their fantasies and all that. I could care less about what they do. That's their thing. It's the same way I feel about the MLP (My Little Pony) fanbase. That's what these fans like doing sometimes and doing fan art and fiction. I leave it alone and do my own thing. If I don't like it then I just ignore it. We all just gotta coexist with each other without being destructive about everything. Both opposing sides have to understand each other and be more mature and civilized. That way things will be more productive and open-minded. Whew! Okay, I kinda got off topic right there. Let's get back to Sonic Boom. It appears that Sega and OuiDO! Productions are planning to create a show on Cartoon Network that has 52 episodes and are 11 mins. each in half hour blocks. They will air sometime during this year and next year seasons. The series is planning to promote Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Amy, etc. along side other characters in the franchise as well as original ones. The new Sonic Boom also shows the main four sporting some accessories and outfits like Sonic wearing a brown scarf, Tails wearing his goggles, Knuckles looking like he's been doing some bench pressing because he's freakin' huge and beefy, and Amy with her trademark big mallet and also looking more mature. I guess we'll just have to wait and see where this goes. As far as what I saw, it looks awesome! The Sonic Boom game for the Wii U is being developed by Big Red Button Entertainment. The company was founded by Bob Rafei who is the art director for Naughty Dog from 1995 to 2008. This would be their first game. If you don't know Naughty Dog then here are some games they made over the years: Crash Bandicoot series, Jak and Daxter series, Uncharted series, and the new Last of Us game. Well, that should get your attention now that you know then we all know that Sonic Boom is in good hands hopefully. Well, if you wanna know more about this whole deal then check out the pics and videos below.
