I'm not sure if this was a response by Sony to Microsoft buying Activision Blizzard. It seems that Sony just bought Bungie for $3.6 billion that's 9 zeros after 3 or $3,600,000,000. This is company known for developing Halo 2, Halo 3, Halo Combat Evolved, Halo Reach, Destiny 1 and 2 and other games. They also made that one game for the PS2 called Oni. I'm not sure if this will have a huge impact against Microsoft but hey that's still a huge announcement. It's not as big as the purchase made by Microsoft but I think that it still has big potential if they utilize this acquisition right. I mean that also goes for Microsoft if they can utilize all their IPs aka Intellectual Properties to their benefit then there's potential. It's really up to the developers and bosses to make this happen. Maybe Sony and Microsoft should just trade all their games and confuse everyone. lmao That would be weird if all of Sony's games like God of War is now owned by Microsoft. lol I mean would players, gamers, users and consumers switch sides and further complicate the gaming industry and console wars. It's already complicated enough as it is since there's also the PC ports from both Sony and Microsoft games. Then we have Nintendo just chillin' on the sidelines but still winning in their own way! lol That's why I'll always be a big Nintendo fan. The Famicom was my first console alongside the Atari 2600 but the Famicom will always make me love Nintendo. That's what introduced me to gaming back in the early 90s. Good times. What do you guys think of this acquisition by Sony. Is this their Yu-Gi-Oh! trap card that they activated in response to Microsoft's pot of greed card? Also it seems that Halo will still be available to both companies so Master Chief isn't really owned by Sony now. I mean the Halo games are available currently on Steam for the PC so I got no complaints on that. I game a lot on PC so I don't think I'm missing out on anything. Other than that I hope that both Sony and Microsoft can revive old IPs and bring it back to next gen gaming! That would be amazing! I mean for example Microsoft can bring back the Prototype games or even Banjo-Kazooie since they own those IPs now. Sony can utilize the Halo games into other forms of media, animation and movies which I think I just saw a couple of days ago. I don't know if Paramount is involve with them or they're using their own people for their Halo series without Sony's involvement. Speaking of Halo I wonder if people saw that Monty Oum fanmade Haloid which stars Master Chief fighting against and alongside Samus from Metroid. That was so badass! lol RIP Monty Oum.
