After its last appearance back in 2011 the SOPA bill is back again to criminalize streaming. For those of you who don't know the SOPA bill tries to make it a felony to stream copyrighted works. After that the CISPA bill was tried as well. CISPA would allow for voluntary information sharing between private companies and the government in the event of a cyber attack. If the government detects a cyber attack that might take down Facebook or Google, for example, they could notify those companies. At the same time, Facebook or Google could inform the feds if they notice unusual activity on their networks that might suggest a cyber attack. Thus we were made aware of this monitoring by the NSA as Edward Snowden the whistleblower who is an American computer specialist who worked for the CIA and the NSA and leaked details of several top-secret United States and British government mass surveillance programs to the press. Basically, the NSA (National Security Agency) and GCHQ (British Government Communications Headquarters) were spying on Americans and people who basically used the internet, email, Facebook, etc. and stores metadata and web browsing histories of everyone who uses and makes accounts in the web. Snowden claimed that data collected by the Tempora and PRISM programs are shared with the National Security Agency of the United States. If these guys were to have these bills passed then say goodbye to internet streaming whether you are streaming music, covers, let's plays, singing the birthday song and uploading it, etc. They want to make all these activities a felony and have complete mastery and control over the internet.
