To Cryptocurrencies Or Not? Dogecoin Helps Out With Charities and Sponsor NASCAR UnderDog Driver

This was a blog that I originally made back on April 7, 2014 at 8:20 PM.

Not everyone knows what cryptocurrency is. People lately have been talking about Bitcoin but what about the other cryptocurrencies out there like Litecoin, Dogecoin, Peercoin, Nxt, Mastercoin, and so on and so forth. These other ones are called altcoins. There are tons of other cryptocurrencies aka altcoins out there and some new ones are being made as well. I even stumbled upon weird ones like Potcoin, Fuckcoin, Piggycoin, etc. I'll post videos about these down below. Right now, my favorite amongst all these is the Dogecoin. Doge started off as an internet meme joke starring this cute Shiba Inu dog. Now, Dogecoin is competing against the top cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Litecoin. TO THE MOON as they say and I really am rooting for Doge to reach the moon! Such coin so moon! Wow! lol Unlike Bitcoin which only has 21 million or more coins, Dogecoin has over 100 billion Doge in existance! Dogecoin has also been use and shown in a positive light because of all the charities and sponsors it contributed to. The Dogecoin community and foundation have encouraged fundraising for charities and other notable causes. On January 19, 2014, a fundraiser was established by the Dogecoin community to raise $50,000 for the Jamaican Bobsled Team, which had qualified for, but could not afford to go to, the Sochi Winter Olympics. By the second day, $30,000 worth of Dogecoin was donated, and the Dogecoin to Bitcoin exchange rate rose by 50%. The Dogecoin community also raised funds for a second Sochi athlete Shiva Keshavan. As of 13 February 2014, Dogecoin has a market capitalization of USD$81 million. On March 25, 2014, the Dogecoin community successfully raised 67.8 million Dogecoins (around $55,000 at the time) in an effort to sponsor NASCAR driver Josh Wise. Wise ran a Dogecoin-sponsored paint scheme at the Aaron's 499 at Talladega Superspeedway. That is awesome if you think about it! All the cryptocurrencies of course always fluctuate in price going up and going down everyday and you can't really tell. One thing is for certain though. Despite what people claim about Bitcon dying or ending, these things won't really go away now because they are digital. They are part of the internet now and could eventually get adapted as a real form of currency alongside normal currencies use in the world if not now maybe someday. We use debit cards and credit cards which are plastic and is electronic so why not cryptocurrency. Not everyone will like this, not everyone wants to be part of this, and there are of course doubts and concerns regarding the so called volatile nature of the rising and falling of the price of cryptocurrency aka digital currency. What do you think? Will people eventually adapt this cryptocurrency in the future? It will probably take a long time before that happens but some stores are already accepting Bitcoin. It's not quite mainstream yet but it will get there eventually. After the whole deal with Mt. Gox and being involve with Silk Road and the black market of course there will be doubts about Bitcoin. People had doubts about the internet decades ago and thought it wasn't going anywhere now look at people nowadays. Everyone is using the internet even though their mobile phones. Also even if the power goes out people have there mobile phones to use as their digital wallet for their cryptocurrency so it's not going anywhere whether you like it or not just like youtube, video games, HD TVs, IPads, etc. aren't going anywhere either. The world is changing and advancing and the only thing you can do is accept it like everything else. It's part of technology and technology is always evolving, changing, getting faster, getting smaller, becoming more advance, becoming more mobile, etc. This cryptocurrency like every gadget in your house is just in its infancy and will evolve further into the future. Back then computers were the size of refrigerators or bigger and look at were we are now. We can hold it in the palm of our hands! The cryptovolution is now! Do you wanna be part of it or be against it?
